Heating water with solar air heat panels
Heating water with solar air heat panels? We gave that up decades ago–are you crazy? Maybe not. Capturing the sun’s energy with water and then transferring it to space heating actually goes against thermodynamic common sense. In northern climates, winter space heating loads dwarf domestic water heating (DHW) loads. This presentation looks at calculations and experimental work to ask what would happen if we went against solar thermal common sense and instead went with the common sense of thermodynamics to use solar air panels for space heating and DHW heating.
