Ms. Kim C. Walton

Kim Walton is Program Director at the Michigan Alternative and Renewable Center (MAREC) at Grand Valley State University. She has a Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University, Boone, NC in Industrial /Appropriate Technology. Kim has both a Masters in Resource and Environmental Analysis and a second master’s in Public Administration with a certificate in Nonprofit Administration, both from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo Michigan.

Kim started Basic Solar & Renewables LLC in 2007 which provides consulting, installations and repairs to solar and wind systems. Kim has been involved in many aspects of “green” program development since her first RE system was installed during the 1980s.

Kim is currently doing research on solar energy resources and the effects of snow cover in West Michigan, and a project on the actual effects of renewable energy systems installed on income qualified homes in Michigan.
